Route Information
The new Half Marathon (approx 21K) Rabbit Run Half Marathon boasts one of the most scenic trail half marathon courses in the UK.
It takes in most of the highlights of the original 12K Rabbit Run has to offer, running around the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate, including its hills, valleys, sand dunes, river crossing and the opportunity to tumble down the Big Dipper – the biggest sand dune in Wales.
Upon leaving the Merthyr Mawr Estate, half marathon runners will take in stunning views of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, running across Ogmore and West Farm to Dunraven Bay before heading towards St Brides Major where you’ll cross Heol Y Mynydd before heading back to Merthyr Mawr.
Expect dramatic landscapes, plunging cliffs, secluded coves and breathtaking views.
Whilst signage will direct participants in key locations, there will be an element of self-navigation. Those taking part should take steps to ensure they are familiar with the route, for which a GPX digital download will be available, and carry all the items on the race kit list.
Runners must attempt to complete the course within our 4 hour cut-off time.
Please note: A large portion of the route is run on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate, so it will not be possible to recce the course outside of the official event. Minimum age for entry is 21.
