Runners who are looking to take on the new Rabbit Run Wales 40K distance are being encouraged to enter now if they’re wanting to save.

There are only a handful of early bird entries remaining so keen runners need to hop to it.

The new 40K distance takes in all that the original 12K Rabbit Run has to offer including running on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate, splashing through the local rivers and tumbling down the Big Dipper – the highest sand dune in Wales.

However, they will also head out on a tour of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, taking in breathtaking views of the sea and running past plunging cliffs and secluded coves.

Steve Brace, Race Director at event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: “We’re really excited to bring this new longer distance to the Rabbit Run Wales event offering the chance for runners to not only challenge themselves further but take in even more of the natural beauty of the area.

“It’s set to be the biggest event yet and with spaces running out fast we’d encourage those who want to take part to sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.”

Early bird registration offers runners a £5 discount on general entry. There’s just a few of these spaces left and once they’re sold out, the cost to enter the 40K distance will rise to £40 (or £38 for runners affiliated to a UKA club).

For those who want to make a weekend of it, there is also the option to camp onsite at Candleston Woods or relax and unwind with a session in the outdoor Forest Sauna.
